Alexandros Markopoulos obtained his Ph.D. degree in applied mechanics.
He is a researcher at IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center.
His work experiences include internship at UPMC Paris, France (prof F.-X. Roux’s Research Group), and DAAD scholarship at Leibniz Universität Hannover, Germany (prof Wriggers’ group). His research interests include a development of iterative methods for large-scale problems, finite element methods, structural mechanics, and mechanical contact problems.
Alexandros Markopoulos won second place in the national competition “Prof. Babuska Prize” (2010) and also in the “Joseph Fourier Prize” (2011).
